PrepNow Tutor - Christopher E.

A peaceful tutor, Christopher tends to remain calm, regardless of the circumstances. “I believe that true communication requires taking an interest in someone else; I'm very relational and I try to build rapport with my students and colleagues,” he says. Christopher holds a BA in economics from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS in finance from the University of Houston. While he has previously worked as a high school teacher, Christopher is currently a full-time tutor.
Christopher has been tutoring test prep since 2017 and has experience teaching the ACT, SAT, GMAT, and LSAT. As a math teacher, he has taught algebra 1 and 2, geometry, pre-calculus, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics. “My proudest moments have been whenever my students get accepted into the colleges of their choice!” Christopher shares.
Christopher describes his teaching style as focused on the fundamentals. “I make sure that students are strong in fundamental skills and build up from there,” he explains. “I believe that all things that last start with a strong foundation. I also believe that consistency is the key to success.” When Christopher is working with students, he reviews concepts and skills even when students think they are proficient in them. “I’m excited to work with each student. I believe that no matter where a person is on their journey, there is room to improve," Christopher says. "Whatever a student's goals are, I am sure that together we can get the student closer to them.”
Outside of work, Christopher enjoys practicing new skills. “I love learning about languages and listening to international music,” he says. “I am also big into video games (mostly RPG and fighting games) and enjoy learning about new topics (psychology, biology, etc.) and different cultures.” Christopher is an Air Force brat who has lived all over the country, including Alaska.
