A patient and curious tutor, Daniel is passionate about learning new things and sharing his knowledge with others. He holds both a BS and MS in computer science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Since graduating, Daniel has been tutoring, working on various game and app projects, and preparing for law school with plans to practice patent law.
Throughout his time in school, Daniel tutored peers with different learning styles on a variety of subjects, including pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, arithmetic, and calculus. “My proudest moments, however, always come from getting a new concept across to my younger siblings, who were my first tutees,” Daniel says. “They still often ask me for help when it comes to learning new concepts in math!”
Daniel’s tutoring style is highly adaptable and depends heavily on understanding the student’s needs and how to keep them truly engaged with as much of the lesson as possible. “By getting to understand the students and their needs before and during lessons, I can alter the way in which I convey or reinforce necessary information in a way that builds their confidence (or even fondness) in the subject,” Daniel says. “Whether it’s adding more structure to a curriculum per a student’s request, smoothly segwaying back into the main topic with a distractible student, or even integrating that tangent into the lesson for further attention and retention, my adaptability is paramount to my ability to engage with a student,” he says. “This is also paramount to them not only taking away anything from the lesson, but developing their ability to study and learn.”
As a student, Daniel participated in cross country, basketball, and touch football. He has played the trumpet for eleven years and the baritone for seven. He was on the dean's list at WPI from 2022 to 2023. Daniel enjoys fitness, Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and game and software design.
