PrepNow Tutor - Logan F.
Logan taught 8th-grade biotechnology from 2023 to 2025 and has worked as a private tutor ever since, specializing in various subjects and levels. She also has experience tutoring students in ACT, SAT, TSI, state testing (like STAAR), and AP exams. An ambitious, passionate learner, she aims to instill students with the drive and confidence to meet their goals.
Logan earned a BA in medical humanities from Houston Baptist University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Since college, she has worked as a molecular geneticist, a research assistant, and a biotech teacher. She pivoted to teaching when she realized her purpose lived outside the lab. “I come from a family of educators, so I always knew teaching was in me,” she shares.
“My proudest moment as a teacher would be when my most challenging (behavior-wise) student emailed me, thanking me for having patience with him and working after school with him in 8th grade. He said he remembered wanting to drop out, and it was the conversation I had with him during lunch detention that made him keep going,” she reflects.
Another proud moment was when one of Logan’s college students called her from school, “screaming that she passed her Anatomy and Physiology final exam with a 105! I was in the grocery store, but I screamed with her—it was an awesome moment.”
Logan’s approach is adaptive and authentic, first and foremost; she likes to keep students on their toes. “I grew up with grandparents and a mother who were teachers, and they all taught differently. There’s not always one way of learning or doing things,” she explains. She puts in extra work to keep sessions fresh and fun, especially when it comes to seemingly dry material. “I try my best to make sure students are engaged, so if that means switching up how I teach, then I will.”
Logan’s stellar grades earned her recognition from the National Junior Honor Society; she was also an AP Ambassador, a member of the Spanish club, and President of Mu Theta Alpha, her high school’s math club. She ran varsity track and was nominated a “duchess” for homecoming court.
In her free time, she loves seeing movies and solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
